Cajun dinner will raise funds for courthouse
The Adair Heritage Association will host a silent auction and cajun dinner to raise awareness for the courthouse preservation on Thursday July 29, at 6:30 p.m.
It will be held at the Columbia Christian Church Park, 206 Campbellsville Rd., located directly behind the church.
Food will be prepared by Columbia’s own culinary artist, Robert Flowers.
The menu includes deep fried turkey, jambalaya, rice, cajun beans, cornbread and dessert.
The dinner and silent auction will raise money and awareness of the effort to preserve the Adair County Courthouse.
A limited number of tickets are available at $10 per person and can be purchased at the Adair County Library, Bank of Columbia, judge executive’s office or by contacting Ellen Zornes at 250-3400 or Roger Meadows at 378-3161.
The courthouse is a wonderful and important part of the history of Columbia and Adair County.
All proceeds will be used toward the Exterior Phase (Phase I), which is to remove the 1978 additions and restore the courthouse to its 1885 architectural look. Dinner guests will see firsthand the exterior and landscape plans.
