Teen trapped in vehicle for hours

Bridgette “Kaelyn” Wade spent almost nine hours trapped in an overturned car before someone found her on Sunday.
It was dark. Her leg was broken and she had no way out.
Bridgette “Kaelyn” Wade, 18, of Columbia, spent almost nine hours trapped in a friend’s car before anyone found her.
At 11:30 p.m. on Saturday Wade was traveling eastbound on Milltown Road in a friend’s 2001 Chevy when she left the right side of the roadway, traveled through the ditch, struck a culvert and overturned.
She was entrapped in the vehicle throughout the night and into the morning until 8:20 a.m. A passing motorist spotted the overturned vehicle and notified the police.
Wade was airlifted from the scene and transported to the University of Louisville Hospital.
She had surgery on Monday according to her mother Toni Turner, of Columbia.
She experienced a broken leg, crushed disk in her back and a fracture in her neck. She started physical therapy on Tuesday.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Kenny Perkins investigated the accident. Perkins was assisted at the scene by Adair County EMS, Adair County Fire Department and Search and Rescue.
