Unoccupied school bus damages two cars

A school bus and two vehicles were damaged while students were attending school Saturday to make up for a missed day from flooding earlier this month.

Columbia City Police report that a parked, unoccupied school bus rolled across the parking lot and struck two vehicles, sending one into the middle school.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The bus incurred minor damage to the front of the vehicle. A 1998 Jeep owned by Jerry Powell, of Columbia, received severe damage to the front end. A 1999 Mercury Sable owned by Deborah Hensley, of Columbia, received moderate damage to the rear end.

Columbia City Police investigated.
